Fireworks Regulations in Williston: What You Need to Know
With the 4th of July a little over a week away, now is a good time to remind everyone of the fireworks ordinances for the City of Williston!
Fireworks are permitted in the City of Williston on July 4 of each year, until the time of 1:00 a.m. on July 5 of each year.

Violation of this ordinance carries a $250 fine. Second Violation of this ordinance within a year will result in a $500 fine.
However, if the Williams County fire danger rating reaches the orange level (Very High) or above, and a burn ban is put in place, fireworks are no longer permitted. The Burn Ban includes the ignition of fireworks, burning of leaves, grass clippings, garbage/pits, construction debris, fallen trees, crop residue or hay land, sloughs, and campfires/bonfires/recreation fires. Williston Police Officers are charged with enforcing these provisions and shall seize, take, remove, or cause to be removed at the owner’s expense all fireworks or combustibles if in violation of this ordinance.
