The Williston State Tetons are back home at The Well today against United Tribes to bounce back from their first loss of 2023.

Starting the evening off will be the Women's game, which tips off at 5:30 pm CST.  The Tetons are looking to even the season series up at 1-0 against the Thunderbirds after a 14 point win in late November.

In that game, Williston State fell behind by 6 points at the break, but outscored Tribes 44-24 in the second half to take home an 83-69 win.

UTTC comes into the game off of a 29 point game against Bottineau.  The 4-13 Pioneers (2-10 Mon-Dak) look to catch the Tetons reeling from their first loss in a month an a half.

The Thunderbirds are averaging 69.1 points per game while hitting 35.9% of their shots from the field, and 27.9% from beyond the arc.

Myona Dauphinais leads the way in scoring, pouring in 14.6 points per game, with Tiara Flying Horse (12.6 ppg) also contributing to the Thunderbirds offensive output.

Williston State comes into the game 14-7 (9-4 Mon-Dak) overall on the season, and are looking to rebound from having an eight game win streak snapped, a win against tribes would keep them at 9-1 in their last 10 games.  The team is averaging 65.8 points per game, while shooting  42.4% overall and 29.2% from deep.

Tetons are led in scoring by Emily Kurkowsky with 16.1 points per game, and just outside of the the double digit club is fellow sophomore guard Hayley Macdonald (9.6 ppg).

Three things to watch for:

1. Starting Strong: Williston State scored less than 10 points in the first quarter against Science earlier this week, a stat they can ill afford for the second day in a row, especially with a Tribes team that can get hot from the outside.

2. Two Way Press: The Tetons will have a significant advantage in depth and will look to get out on the run in offense and also force the Thunderbirds to work hard all 94 feet up the court. With Kurkowski and Field leading the charge on Defense, and the ability for the Teton bigs to run the floor in transition, may lead to the scoring column filling up for Williston state.

3. Strong With The Ball. On Monday, Williston State gave away plenty of rebound chances after a significant amount of non-called assault and battery by the Wildcats, the Tetons need to be sure handed on the glass, and while ball handling as to not give away nearly as many as the 20 turnovers that occurred in Wahpeton.
